LAGERTHA PROJECT

Lagertha Project is an initiative of A Bordo Lab, the blue project accelerator, which promotes female entrepreneurship in advanced digital technologies and leadership aboard a sailing vessel. It offers intensive training in Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, Virtual and Augmented Reality, and the Internet of Things, applied to new triple-impact business models within the blue economy.

Based on the #BlendedLearningABordo methodology, it combines online training, in-person sessions, and immersive experiences at sea. Through workshops, mentoring, and mastermind sessions, Lagertha Project fosters a new generation of digital female talent committed to innovation, sustainability, and regenerative leadership, aligned with the challenges of the United Nations Ocean Decade.

THE BREAK FELLOWSHIP

The Break Fellowship is a program funded by the EU – Next Generation that promotes female entrepreneurship at the European level.

At A Bordo Lab, we hosted 36 European women entrepreneurs for one month and designed a program, in collaboration with several partners, to solve a local challenge related to the Blue Economy, providing them with tools, dynamics, and connections to create innovative solutions with real impact.

BLUE NET CAMP

BlueNetCamp is a program designed by A Bordo Lab for the Xarxa Marítima de Catalunya to promote technology transfer in the field of the Blue Economy.

At A Bordo Lab, we have created a strategic program to support four teams made up of researchers, companies, and investors, with the aim of transforming scientific research into solutions applicable to real-world environments, providing them with tools, mentoring, and strategic connections to generate alliances with real impact on society.

EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT AND LEADERSHIP PROGRAM ABOARD

A 30 day immersive experience that combines personalized mentoring, practical training, and sailing to train leadership, decision-making, and resilience in real environments. At sea, every maneuver is a metaphor for leadership: you must listen, coordinate, anticipate, and trust.

This program transforms the way teams and projects are led, connecting strategic thinking with the sensory experience of the wind and the waves. Because leading, like sailing, is about knowing how to read the environment and keep the course even in the midst of uncertainty.

We design living labs where companies, institutions, and citizens collaborate to identify and respond to real challenges. They are open, dynamic, and participatory spaces where new ways of doing things are experimented with to improve our environment. Here, ideas come to life, connect, and become actions with environmental, economic, and social impact.

TESTBEDS

TECHNOLOGY AND PROTOTYPES

We identify and provide real testing environments where prototypes and MVPs (minimum viable products) are tested to verify how they work in specific contexts before being scaled. This allows us to validate technologies, products, or services with real users, collect data, and improve their design. It is the bridge between the idea and its practical application — a space where true innovation happens, which means learning by doing.

SANDBOXES

REGULATIONS AND POLICIES

We create safe spaces to innovate and test new rules of the game. In a sandbox, it is possible to experiment not only with new technologies or business models, but also with regulations and policies. These are environments supervised by institutions that allow legal changes or procedures to be tested with greater flexibility and less risk. This helps innovation move forward with fewer frictions, supporting the creation of frameworks that are more adaptable, sustainable, and open to progress.
